The update is available as a template update notification in GTM.

Meta's engagement-through attribution confirmed live in accounts

Jon Loomer has confirmed that Meta's attribution changes, announced in early March, are now active in accounts. Click-through attribution now requires an actual link click prior to conversion: reactions, shares, comments, and other non-link clicks no longer qualify under click-through and instead fall under the renamed "engage-through" window, which carries a one-day lookback rather than seven.

Google Ads offline conversion imports to improve attribution from April, with no breaking changes

Google has announced infrastructure changes to the Offline Conversion Import experience, rolling out in April 2026, with no breaking API changes. The first phase, in April, introduces improved GCLID attribution and fallback recovery: expired GCLIDs and clicks that occurred before a conversion will now be attributed where previously they were not, reducing EXPIRED_EVENT and CONVERSION_PRECEDES_EVENT errors and raising overall attribution rates.

Google Tag

Meta officially releases Google Tag Manager template for Meta Pixel

Meta has released an official Google Tag Manager template for the Meta Pixel, ending a years-long absence of a native integration. GTM Consent Mode Preview Mode UI glitch confirmed fixed

Simo Ahava reported: and subsequently confirmed resolved: a UI glitch in Google Tag Manager's Consent Mode APIs within Preview Mode. Google is offering a $600 credit for activating conversion tracking

Google is reportedly offering some advertisers $600 in ad credit for activating conversion tracking. The promotion appears targeted at accounts that haven't yet set up conversion measurement: a friction remover for small businesses who have been putting off the technical setup.

Conversion attribution is now tied to the install date rather than ad interaction

Google has changed how it attributes conversions for app campaigns, now crediting the day of install rather than the day of the ad interaction. The shift should reduce discrepancies between Google Ads data and mobile measurement partner (MMP) reporting, which has long been a source of frustration for app marketers trying to reconcile figures across platforms.
